KAPWA - the Tagalog word for fellow being. Kapwa is also the core Filipino cultural value of interconnectedness, togetherness and shared identity. It is seeing oneself in others. It is taking care of each other. It is community. It is inclusiveness and belonging. It is the belief that other people are part of what one is.
The KAPWA Earrings are the newest addition to the ARAW Collection. They're a special addition in celebration of The Groggy Owl's 3 year anniversary. These earrings were inspired by the incredible community of makers & shoppers I've been so blessed to get to know since starting The Groggy Owl. There have been many ups and downs while running this small business, and the immense kindness I have received by others during this journey is something I'll never forget. Thank you to everyone for the constant support and encouragement - I owe so much of my success to you all.
These earrings feature a sunrise motif, and is hand-stamped with the word KAPWA.

It’s durable & versatile – it can shine like gold, or develop a gorgeous patina for a lovely rustic look. All our brass jewellery is made from pure, untreated brass. It will develop a tarnish over time, but don’t fret! It can always be easily cleaned to look like new again. Brass can last a lifetime if properly cared for. Clean brass regularly to maintain the bright, golden shine. Or leave as is and allow the brass to develop a sought-after natural patina for a gorgeous rustic look.
